CPR and First Aid Training
Fairfax Rescue provides training under the American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines for the instruction of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and basic first aid.
We offer courses depending on your needs.
Course completion cards are valid for 2 years.
** CPR and First Aid Online Courses are available through the AHA **
Once completed call us at 802-849-2773 to sign-up for the skills session. Please bring a copy of the completion certificate with you, as well as the $20.00 practical fee.
BLS for Healthcare Providers - Course length: Initial 4 to 5 hours, renewal 2 to 3
Instruction in CPR, including ventilation with a barrier device, a bag-mask device and oxygen, use of an AED and relief of FBAO in responsive and unresponsive victims. The course is targeted for individuals (such as EMTs, physicians, nurses, physical therapists and other allied health professionals) who work in a health care setting. Classes are held on a quarterly basis or on request.
Heartsaver CPR - Course length: 4 hours (All ages)
Heartsaver CPR teaches CPR and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction for adults, infants, and children; intended for lay responders such as parents, firefighters, police, day care providers and babysitters. This can be combined with the AED training on request.
Heartsaver AED - Course length: 3 1/2 to 5 hours
Heartsaver AED teaches the basic techniques of adult CPR and how to use an automatic external defibrillator (AED); intended for lay responders such as firefighters, police, and employees in the workplace.
Heartsaver First Aid - Course length: 3 to 7 hours and can be combined with any of the above listed courses.
This course is intended for the lay person who would like a basic understanding of medical emergencies and immediate treatments.
